Recipe Swap

About two years ago I participated in a circle journal; it is an possession that I will always cherish. We learned a lot about each other and had a wonderful time together (digitally speaking) It was how ever very stressful for some of us wondering which package would be damaged or who would flake out.

Since then I have discovered a new way to get a wonderful little scrap book that tells about friends around the country, Swaps! We are doing a swap where we do a 6x6 scripture scrap page; we each do 8 identical pages then mail them to the hostess. Who makes 8 piles of pages and sends one of each to each of us in the self addressed stamped envelope that we sent with our pages. We do this each month with a different theme, July's theme is truth last month it was hope.

Junebug and I tried a variation on a swap at my forum by making 6x6 recipe pages and posting them so we could print them out; Our theme was recipes and I personally have a cute little cook book now that I will cherish for ever!

How ever the printed pages were not as nice as the ones scrapped by the participants.
So I am open to hostessing a Recipe Swap, just this once to see how it goes; the details will be on my forum under swaps. Please visit there and let me know if you are interested

ATC Card Holder

I saw this little card on someones blog (sorry don't remember which one) it has an envelope cut in two and glued together down the center, then glued to the card it's self; the square in front is glued along the bottom; And the top flap goes under the top of it, to hold it closed.
you can put a gift card or money or a couple of ATC cards in it.

Christmas card

This is my first attempt at chalking over clear ink; I have never cared for chalking by it's self, but I really like it when it's done over the clear ink. Very pretty.

Altered note Books

I used Stamping Up's more mustard and not quite navy card stock
CTMH's sunny yellow and garden green inks to do this project
This is an index card binder that I put my card page maps or sketches in so I can take it to crops with me
This is a small sketch pad that I like to keep in my purse to jot down sketches and notes when inspiration strikes me.

scrappers bunk house

I also order the pages from this site

My Scrap Rack

I saw the scrap racks on the net and had to have one BUT they were 225.00 plus. Sooo I put on my thinking cap and made one for about 30.00 And I love it! I had forgotten how much cool stuff I had in all my binders, now it's out where I can see it. How cool is that?
Now I have all my acrylic stamps, ribbon, stickers, page kits, coluzzles, templates and more where I can lay my hands right on them

A Giggle for you

As You Slide Down the Banister of Life, remember...

1. Jim Baker and Jimmy Swaggert have written
an impressive new book. It's called...
'Ministers Do More Than Lay People'
2. Transvestite: A guy who likes to eat, drink,
and be Mary.
3. The difference between the Pope and
your boss: the Pope only expects you
to kiss his ring.
4. My mind works like lightning. One brilliant
flash and it's gone.
5. The only time the world beats a path to
your door is when you're in the bathroom.
6. I hate sex in the movies. Tried it once.
The seat folded up, the drink spilled, and
that ice, well, it really chilled the mood.
7. It used to be only death and taxes
were inevitable. Now, of course, there's
shipping and handling, too.
8. A husband is someone who, after taking
the trash out, gives the impression that
he just cleaned the whole house.
9. My next house will have no kitchen. Just
vending machines and a large trash can.
10. A blonde said, 'I was worried that my
mechanic might try to rip me off.
I was relieved when he told me all
I needed was turn signal fluid.'
11. Definition of a teenager?
God's punishment for... enjoying sex.

12. As you slide down the banister of life, may
the splinters never point the wrong way.

Distress Embossing

I used Tim Holtz's Walnut distress embossing powder to stamp the image; It comes out looking like sandpaper, then I colored it in using my Close to my Heart ink and my water brush.
