Back yard

I took these pictures last winter sitting at my desk, looking out the sliding doors into my back yard.

When the robins came in it was very icy not at all normal for us. There were hundreds of them, they like to eat the china berries that fell off the trees and it was hilarious! The berry’s ferment and the birds were drunk they would try to land on the tree branches that were covered in ice and slide off. I enjoyed the show for a couple of months.

Christmas

I don’t believe you’re ever to old for Christmas.

I hear people say they aren’t going to put up a tree this year because it’s too much trouble.

My prayer to God is that I never get to that state.

Christmas is not for me, It’s celebrating my saviors birth and I am decorating the house to celebrate his birth

Every cookie I bake for someone is baking for him; every ornament I hang is to remember his glory

Why do I do it when no one will see it?

Because some one does see it.

Halloween Prop

My sister visited me this weekend she wanted to alter a book to make a prop for Halloween
she got a large book from the goodwill. We altered it to look like a spell book for her evil kitchen.

Folder album

Well my newest project is coming along very nice, and as soon as I get some batteries in my camera I'll post some pictures of it.
I finished a folder of my Parents in sepia tones and I have found two old ring style photo albums that my mom had tucked away, and I like them more than the cover I made. So I will probably embellish and alter them for my folder album.

Mom's Angel

When Susie and I were small we always shared a bedroom. My mother decoupaged a picture for us and hung it in our room.It was of an angel watching over two small children crossing a broken bridge in the rain. And she always told us that we (Susie and I) were the two children in the picture. And that we had an angel watching over us all the time.
Now that I am older I know that even if there were no such things as angels (and I know that there are) it was true.”My mother was that Angel” and I believe with all my heart that she is still watching over not only Susie and I, but over all of us.

Poem

It is the small things in life that make it worth while. A walk in the rain, snow falling gently on the ground,
A baby smiling for the first time, a moment of solitude with the Lord, or a day spent with the whole family.
It is the things we take for granted; the everyday occurrences that keep us sane.
It is a wondrous thing to be able to see the beauty of moments like these they are a gift from the lord and we do not always take the time to recognize them, as we hurry thorough our time rushing along in the river of life.
Rather than floating along on a gentle flow.
The work will be there, the house will be there, and so will our worries, the world will not fall from its axes if we stop for time to just be.
Take time to be with the Lord and the day just turns out good.
Perhaps that is the real key to being happy, to recognize the gifts that the Lord has given us.
